30+ years of practical, no-nonsense first aid training

It started with Diane. In 1994, Diane Mckinney began teaching first aid the way she believed it should be taught: practically, without jargon, by people who'd actually used these skills when it mattered. Three decades later, that business — Summit Training Consultancy — had trained thousands of people across Cheshire and the North West, one workplace, one nursery, one family at a time.

Cleo Mckinney-Robinson grew up around that work, and over the past several years has taken on more and more of the responsibility for running it — first alongside Diane, then leading it. In 2026, that leadership became official, and it felt like the right moment for the business to look like what it had actually become: still family-run, still built on the same trainers and healthcare professionals, but with a clearer name and a bigger ambition.

That's Ripple Training. The new name isn't just a fresh coat of paint — it's the idea driving the next chapter: good training shouldn't stop with the people in the room. Every course we deliver now helps fund a free place for someone who couldn't otherwise access it, through our connected non-profit, The Ripple Foundation. Diane remains part of the team as Founder; Cleo leads Ripple Training and the Foundation as Chief Executive Officer.
